Health and Wellness Facility Assessment in Andhra Pradesh

Narrative Description of Project:
This comprehensive study assessed the readiness of selected sub-centers across all 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh to transition into Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs). The research aimed to evaluate infrastructure, service delivery capabilities, and community health-seeking behaviors, with a specific focus on Out-of-Pocket Expenditure (OOPE) and access to the 12 essential services outlined under the HWC framework. Covering rural and tribal areas with significant sub-center presence, the study provided actionable insights into operational gaps and community needs, informing strategic planning to enhance healthcare accessibility and optimize the state’s primary healthcare transformation.
Description of Actual Services Provided:
Convergent managed the entire research lifecycle, ensuring methodological rigor and ethical compliance:
- Sampling Framework: Designed a comprehensive framework for rural and tribal representation.
- Research Instrument Development: Developed, pre-tested, and translated tools in Telugu.
- Quality Assurance: Implemented stringent protocols and real-time monitoring.
- Ethical Compliance: Adhered to global standards for confidentiality and consent.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Managed end-to-end processes to deliver actionable insights.
Research Methodology
A quantitative study was conducted across 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Surveys were administered in English and Telugu using Face-to-Face Computer Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI).
